Let us look at the concepts of capitalism and socialism from a liberal perspective, then demonstrate how stupid and poorly educated your basic liberal is.
A liberal would, and has said that “Socialism and Capitalism are types of economic systems” but as usual your liberal is wrong. Both are socio-political economic systems based on contrary views of human nature. Capitalism believes that humans primarily act in their own self interest, and can only be relied on to act in their own self interest. Humans are an economic animal that is evolving. As is any evolution those least able to produce and fend for themselves are wasteful and un-necessary drains on society. This theory is extremely logical and in my opinion well grounded in fact.
Socialism, and its big brother communism are also socio-political economic systems, and according to the men who created them, communism is the evolutionary outcome of socialism, the two are linked, (do not believe me, read Karl Marx). Socialists hold the utopian perspective that humans are really purely social animals, and that they will act for the betterment of society rather then for personal gain. In other words all people are fundamentally good and care more about their fellow man then themselves. In this respect socialists are delusional.
A liberals would also say that “neither socialism or capitalism exists in a pure state”. Worse then being delusional, this demonstrates the poorly educated state of liberals. A socio-political economic system is not a lump of coal—it does not exist as a substance. It is an ideal that is constantly fluid, and not even mutually defined. Ask a liberal for the universally accepted definition of socialism or capitalism, there is none. Because the terms are ideas not substances that can be purified.
Liberals also tend to oversimplify history. They live by the mantra “Socialism was introduced in the late eighteenth century in direct response to the Industrial Revolution. It was created to defeat capitalism”. Socialism was created long before the Industrial Revolution. Socialist utopias, like Quakerism have been part of the Christian faith since the days of Jesus, and part of the Jewish faith much longer then that. Such utopias are in no way limited to the Christian faith—but they are faith based and they all assume that human nature is basically good.
The addendum here that your basis liberal rejects is that socialism is a form of faith; a belief system dependant on unrealistic but very appealing assumptions of a god like or good nature of humanity.
Because socialism is so unrealistically based, so flawed; it is destined to fail as I have mentioned. Countries such as China, Russia, Cuba and North Korea are examples of societies based upon socialist principles. They depict how socialism fails. Production never matches need because the profit that motivates production does not exist. The result people starve and food rots unharvested.
I bring this up now, because our nation and economy are ruled by the same liberals who are too poorly educated to understand the socio political economic system that they espouse. These same liberals whose flawed social policies like welfare and subsidized mortgages have caused our current economic depression. The same whose nationalization of the auto industry is ensuring that industry’s failure, and whose proposed “health care Reform” will eliminate coverage for millions and reduce research and cures in this nation. These Liberals are a danger to themselves, and to us real Americans. Stop them if you can, and if you care about your family, because with Obama in charge your family is destined to suffer. Snuff out socialism now or suffer later.
