Quilting, like any other hobby combines technique and material to allow for creative expression. In fact, the entire article offers good advice for beginning quilters. I lays out a general review of what classes are available and what each class covers. Sadly the state of classes is not as advanced as this article.
Uniformity in craft technique classes is not uniform, as this article may lead one to believe. What instructors offer is up to them, and there ability to quilt or to teach is an unknown. One piece of advice I would add is to comparatively shop for any craft class-as the article notes there is CBT and LBT alternatives. Do not assume are craft artisans or classes are the same.
