Four Midwestern states have been hurt by the car industries cutbacks and are lining up to ask for better deals. When it comes to getting money from the federal recovery act, it is not and easy task one has to convince Ed Montgomery the government czar that there is a need and what will help in the recovery. Many gave advice to present Barack Obama's auto recovery czar on May 9, 2009, and there pleas for help in their struggling cities. The most important facility is the one they are currently touring a old facility in Flint, Michigan, that used to build vehicles for General Motors, but is now for sale.
Since May 2009 general Motors workers say Ed Montgomery has been coming out to see the General Motors plant and talk about plans and listen to there suggestions. It is now mid September and nothing has happened. The General Motor workers are concerned that even if the help does come it will be to late. The community is also wondering if the General Motors employees are right.
Many voters and media are concerned that Obama administration is creating a "Shadow Government." There are many new positions being added such as advisors, czar, and envoys that have no set role within the administration. Past presidents have also had these types of positions, but their real concern is the number that this administration has. When they are asked questions by the media they usually do not get a clear response.
