One of the positive aspects of any sport is uplifting and inspirational stories of the players. Tennis has it's share of those stories; and one of them is about Maria Sharapova. Not a fan of tennis, Maria's story was one I was not slightly familar with; but having read the blog article Maria Sharapova's Rise to the Top;
Without giving away the entire tale, Maria is a great example of how hard work and dedication on her part; combined with sacrifice and commitment of her parents created a tennis star at 17. Without question, talent was a big part of her success but talent alone would not have been enough given the circumstances she was born into. Although it is not said in the article, Maria's career is an ode to the love and care her parents had for her.
