Who Tends To Vote Republican

Your political affiliation can be a very personal issue. No wonder tempers easily escalate when discussing politics or religion. After a while it becomes blatantly obvious that very different people make up the different parties. Winston Churchill once said “Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains!” If I gave you a description of an elderly gentleman who is pro-life and against gun control, you’d probably guess we are talking about a conservative republican. Had it been a grad student who is for the legalization of marijuana and the current health care reform you’d probably guess we’re talking about a liberal democrat. And there are still the ‘single-issue-voters’ who will cast their ballot for whichever party happens to be endorsing a strong belief of theirs. Still many are wondering who these people are that feel the Republican Party fits them like a glove, and some even wonder if they belong. So in the 21st century, who tends to vote republican?

Some of the longer held beliefs by the Republican Party are their positions on gun control, abortion, free market economic policies and a strong national defense. If these seem important to you, you might be a republican, congratulations! Republicans have a long history of defending their right to bear arms, citing an Americans constitutional right to hunt as well as defend their homes. Republicans have historically been pro-life, preferring to promote adoption and abstinence and to respect the life and rights of an unborn child. Free market economic policies put simply is pro business. Make owning a business more efficient for the business owners and their employees will share the rewards. We know that smaller taxes increase individual spending, which more efficiently increases the GDP naturally through consumerism. Put simply republicans believe they can spend their money better than the government can. Maybe this is why republicans are 50% more likely to be self employed than their democrat counterparts. Republicans also favor a strong national defense. We are the greatest nation on earth and must be prepared to defend freedom from tyranny at all times.

I hope you learned something about who tends to vote republican. History shows many of the great accomplishments of our country have been pioneered by republicans and republican views. Not many are aware the party was founded as an anti-slavery activist group and that Abraham Lincoln was the first republican president. Or that despite what the liberal media says republicans care deeply about the environment, much more so than democrats. Teddy Roosevelt (R) apart from being carved into Mt. Rushmore, founded the United States National Park Service. Without which our most beautiful parks and wildlife would be in significantly worse shape. Richard Nixon (R) normally not thought of as an environmentalist is responsible for founding the Environmental Protection Agency. Hopefully I have done my small part to enlighten people about who tends to vote republican and what we stand for.
